Pray for me please

I am in AR as emergency fill-in speaker for Komen–must speak to 600+ people in 2 hours–& my Mama just died. We’ve had her home, in our room with us, for months with hospice care, so not “surprise”–but still… My Mama is gone. God’s Timing is Perfect & Mama is healed. Pray that I can make this speech for Komen & that God will be glorified by it. I thank God for all the time with Mama–even the hard times–& I thank Him for taking her Home. I’m sure she waited for me to leave & God brought me here today for a Reason. Just lift me up–believing all that I do, it is still unbearably hard.

    Father God,

Give Jill the strength to face whatever adversity she may be facing right now. Hold her safe in Your arms and comfort her in her hour. And let her feel the love of the many women and men whose lives she has touched.

    In Your Name,
    Amen

    Dear Father,

You know the heaviness weighing on Jill’s heart. Comfort her, strengthen her, make her fully aware that You are carrying this burden with her. Give her such a strong sense of Your presence that she will have no doubt of Your purpose in her life. Help her know that You are the rock in the stream that stops not our flow, but redirects the current. Let her feel the love of others that pray for her and care for her.
    In Jesus’s name,
    Amen

I lost my mom 4 years ago after a 5 year fight with breast cancer. I was at the hospital and had to leave to pick up my youngest sister from the airport, the only one that had not made it there. When I left the hospital, my mom chose that time to pass on. I always felt she didn’t want my sister to see her there and it was best that I was the one with my sister. I truly believe it happened the “right” way and am thankful.

You are in a very important place doing a very important thing. Thank you. Your mother would be so proud of the way you are handling this. I am keeping you in my thoughts.

Jill, you’re in my prayers. I was at the Pink Ribbon Luncheon here in Arkansas and had not had the privilege of knowing you until today. I’m extremely grateful that I was able to attend and hear you speak. I’m amazed at the way you were able to compose yourself and deliver to the room in the midst of such tragedy. You were still able to bring laughs through tears, which like they say in the eternal classic, Steel Magnolias, is my favorite emotion. You are a real inspiration. I hope you feel your presence was worthwhile, but I assure you, it was.

  • Lanell Adler aka Tammy Jean in Greeley Says:

    Dear Jill,

We knew this was coming but as always, that doesn’t help. Just know that tons of us love you and care about you – you’ve done so much for us. Unfortunately, so many of us are dealing with this kind of thing right now. I’m praying for you and your family. Thank God for them and your friends!

  • Martha Jean Says:

Oh Jill, I was so very sorry to hear the news when George called. I have thought about you all day long and you are tops on my prayer list. I will see you soon, my friend. Bless you, Kyle, Judy and Bailey, and God bless Mama.

  • Mary Anne Says:

Jill, my heart goes out to you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers today as you go through this very difficult time. I know what it feels like to lose one’s Mama.

May you have peace in your heart. Your Mama was most surely proud of you and proud of what you are doing today. Hugs to you, my friend.

I did not know that your mother had left this world when I posted before. Mine died 4 years ago and had gotten so ill that it was a blessing to see her let go. For her sake. I was a little child without a mother and grieved (and still grieve) terribly. My Daddy had died 2 years before. I say all of this to say I have some idea of what you are experiencing and that in addition to the earlier prayer, I pray for ease of the pain you are feeling and I pray you are filled with sweet memories. God bless and keep you and yours.

  • sandy Says:

I can only imagine how hard it will be to speak to all those people today, but I truely believe that you are right where God intends for you to be. You are such a wonderful vehichle for his message, and he would not give you more than you can bear, if he didn’t need for you to be in ARK right now. Trust in that, and know that your Momma is just fine, and all is well. God Bless You.

  • Queen Tina - New Jersey Says:

I can’t imagine what to say to give you comfort at this time. God’s arms are around you and your mom is surely smiling down at you for being such a wonderful, caring, loving and fabulous child to her your whole life through. As for the rest of it, just let your family, loving friends and others just carry you through it. It is their honor to do it and everyone’s love for you will shine through now more than you ever imagined. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your loved ones through this truly sorrowful time.
